Home Depot Advertising Creative or Deceptive? You Decide!

This morning I was searching Home Depot and Lowe’s for a few tools I need this weekend, and stumbled across this ‘ad’ on the Home Depot website. The big print states “Save up to a $1000 INSTANTLY” and then in smaller print “On appliance purchases $396 or more”.

The TRUTH in the advertising is that in order to save $1,000 you must spend a minimum of $5,996.

A typical $396-$495 purchase will save you a measly $25, or the equivilant of only 5%.

What do you think, is Home Depot’s Advertising Creative or Deceptive?
